Goroka Grammar School has today received notification, that as a result of the dire Covid-19 & Delta Variant situation in Eastern Highlands Province, all schools are to restrict the number of grades attending school. The Eastern Highlands Province Division of Education have instructed that the following grades will not attend school for the next two weeks from Monday 4 October.
Primary School
1. Grades Day Care, Kindergarten, Preparatory, 1 and grade 2 will not attend classes for
the next two weeks.
2. Grades 3, 4, 5 & 6 only will attend classes.
Secondary Section
1. Grades 7, 9 & 11 students will not attend classes from Monday 4 October for a period of two weeks.
2. Grades 8, 10 & 12 will attend for classes in preparation for their National Examinations.
For students who are not attending classes during the next two weeks we will prepare
educational learning material to be picked up from the school. As we have not been given
advance notice of the exclusion of some classes, it will take 2 days for us to prepare materials for distribution for the excluded grades, that will be ready for pick up by parents at 1pm on Wednesday 6 October at the Primary Campus.
I apologise for the inconvenience caused by this latest exclusion of selected classes, that is at the Direction of the Eastern Highlands Division of Education and is in the best interests of the health and safety of us all.
