14 JULY 2022
To all Parents & Guardians
Due to the fighting in town today we have reluctantly decided to close the school in the interests of the safety of the children and staff for one day tomorrow, Friday 15 July. Grade 12 students only are expected to attend to sit for their final Written Expression mock exam, before they sit for their first National Exam in two weeks’ time.
Gun shots were heard in town today as police tried to clear the streets after two people were stabbed. And as I am writing this notice, I have just been informed that there have been two more killings, but this time out of town.
Grade 12 students will be released after their mock exam tomorrow at approximately 11.30am. Only resident teachers at the Secondary Campus will be required to be on duty tomorrow morning.
I apologise for any inconvenience caused and look forward to normal classes resuming on Monday 18 July.
Kind regards
Paddy Kelly
Director of Education
